David Nibley
David Nibley

President

David moved here from Utah a little over a yea ago and loves the area. In Utah, he and his wife started a mountain biking program for homeless and low-income youth. He wanted to be involved with a program for youth in Washington, but this time around decided to try soccer.

He has played other sports, but is new to soccer. David loves all aspects of the street soccer program and the sport. His day job is with Children Home Society of Washington working with foster youth. Street Soccer Seattle is his favorite team.


Dylan Peterson
Dylan Peterson

Dylan is a student working on his degree in microbiology at the University of Washington. He became interested in Street Soccer Seattle when his professor at the UW, Taso Lagos, approached him with the idea in the fall of 2009; Dylan has been with the program ever since. He has lived in Washington his entire life--his hometown is Kingston, Washington. He has two sisters, one older and one younger. Besides playing soccer, Dyland spends his time skiing, playing hockey, working on research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and traveling. He plans to study abroad in Kenya. He has traveled to such places as Morocco, Malaysia, Poland, and Slovenia.


Taso Lagos

Taso Lagos was born on the Greek island of Euboea (Evia) and moved to the U.S. with his family when he was eight years old. He played recreational soccer as a teenager, but really learned the game after graduating from the University of Washington in 1980. He has been passionate about the game ever since. The idea for starting a team of homeless soccer players came to him from learning about the Homeless World Cup. Professionally, he teaches at the University of Washington in the JSIS Hellenic Studies Program. Taso is the director of UW's Athens study-abroad programs. His family owns the Continental Greek Restaurant on the Ave in Seattle's U-District..


Westin Goetz
Westin Goetz

Westin is originally from Minnesota. He loves the game. Westin played three years as a wing defender for the Shakopee Sabers Varsity soccer team. Currently, he works for the Federal Aviation Administration. He is happy to be in Seattle--loves the city and the Northwest. Westin's favorite soccer team is Brazil!


Josh Horton
Josh Horton

Josh is originally from Great Falls, Montana and came to Seattle in 2004 to attend college at Seattle University. As long as he can remember he has been involved with athletics. He has always loved the physical and mental challenges different sports present as well as the individual and team dynamics they provide. Soccer has always been a big part of Josh's life; he has played since the age of six. He played varsity soccer all through high school and participated in club and intramural soccer in college. After graduating from Seattle University in 2008 with a B.A. in Psychology, he worked for a couple years at odd jobs before discovering a passion for teaching. He is currently engaged to be married and is working in a masters degree in teaching.


Alex Ferguson

Coach

Alex is currently a student at Hamline University pursuing a bachelors degree in exercise and sports sports science with minors in both athletic training and coaching. He has lived in the beautiful state of Washington his entire life. Alex began playing soccer at the age of four and pretty much fell in love with the game. At age eleven, he chose to become a goalkeeper. As a goalkeeper, he played for a local Kent team called ICM '90 for three years until the team split up. He then joined FWU Storm '90, playing with team as the captured two state championships and progressed to Regionals, both years falling to the two-time national champions, SoCal United. After the Storm split up, Alex played for Norpoint FC, and ended his career playing for HPFC Heat '90. Alex has experience for the Washington State ODP team as well as the u-14 national team. Josh currently plays football at Hamline University, but still loves to play the game of soccer when not in season. He finds soccer to be a way to bond with countless people and create life long friendships. With Street Soccer Seattle, Alex is able to create those friendships and bonds while also helping out his hometown community.
