The Homeless World Cup President

The Street Soccer USA Cup is an event that we participate in every year. Every year we select a team that continually show commitment and attitude day in and day out. When we travel either to New York, California, or even Washington DC to play in this annual cup, players from all of the different cities get to be chosen for the Street Soccer USA National Team. This team gets to compete at the Homeless World Cup. Much like the FIFA World Cup, this event is a celebration where the whole world gets together to use the power of football to change lives.

This last month we got to meet President and Co-Founder Mel Young of the Homeless World Cup during his visit to Seattle with CEO and Co-Founder, Richard Tait, of Golazo Inc. We got to sit and learn of ways to expand and promote change and learn more on the different aspects of homelessness around the world. Seattle may be a small city compared to those around the world, but the same story is still being told. Mel and Richard both shared the same vision on how Soccer/Futbol can be used as a tool to inspire one to change. We hope to continue to spread the message and share what the Homeless World Cup is all about.

Thank you to Mel and Richard for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with Street Soccer Seattle!
